Windshield auto glass replacement requires skilled auto glass technicians. New makes and model cars require that the glass be removed via cutting out the the old glass and removal of existing auto glass urethane. Skilled technicians remove all the parts necessary to cut out the glass then use a cold knife to cut the urethane seal between the glass and the body of the vehicle. Once removed and clean a new bead of urethane must be installed to create the new seal and hold the glass and moldings in place. We use original equipment auto glass urethane and factory guidelines for the application of the urethane. Then, the cleaned and chemically preped auto glass and moldings are installed on top of the new wet urethane bed. (Only an experienced technician should apply the urethane and set the glass.) Once the job is complete it is usually required to let the vehicle sit for a minimum of an hour to allow the urethane to cure.
